The death has occurred of
Michael (Monty) Montgomery
MONTGOMERY (Cork) On 25th February 2026, peacefully, in the presence of his loving family and in the tender and exceptional care of the Acute Medical Unit at Cork University Hospital, MICHAEL (MONTY), Hillgrove Lane, Off Gerald Griffin Street and late Taxi Driver. Dearly beloved husband of the late Gretta (nee O’Sullivan) and much loved dad of Susan, Deirdre, Brian and Stephen, devoted granda of Lucy, Ruby, Cillian, Rocco, Saoirse, Max, Grace and the late Raphael, dearest brother of Mary, Thomas, Nicky, Paula and Jackie and predeceased by his parents Thomas and Chrissy, brother William and nephews Kieran and Gary.
Sadly missed by his loving family, sons-in-law Stephen and Killackey, daughter-in-law Denise, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours Cork Boxing Community and the Soccer Fraternity and a large circle of friends especially Brendan McGinn.
Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Friday (27th February) at 12noon, family in attendance from 4.00pm with Rosary at 5.00pm.
