Formerly of Renmore, Galway and Rathgar, Dublin.

Beloved husband of Anne and devoted father of Éidín, Eoin, Mairtín and Mary.   Deeply missed by his wife and children and their spouses, sisters Sheila Burns and Ann Cooke in Dublin, sister-in-law Eva Richter in Toronto,  grandchildren Carol, Saoirse, Tommy, Ruairí, Aisling, Cillian and Liam, his nieces and nephew, his wonderful carer Ana, neighbours in Galway and Dublin, the extended family and friends all over the world and colleagues in University of Galway.

Reposing at Áras Naofa, within the grounds of the Church of St. Oliver Plunkett, Renmore on Friday, 11 November, from 5 p.m. with removal at 6.30 p.m. to  the adjacent Church.  Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Michael on Saturday, 12 November, at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest following Mass in Rinville Cemetery, Oranmore.
