Michael WHELAN

WHELAN, Michael, 15th August 2022.  Late of Ringsend Road and Elgin Woods, Bray, Co. Wicklow after a long life well lived, in his 91st year.  Former employee of the Irish Glass Bottle Company, Board member and volunteer with Sandymount Credit Union, former President of Vincent de Paul, Ringsend, volunteer with Carmelite Sale of Work.  Predeceased by his loving wife Ellen (Nellie Nicholson) and adored father of their four children Ellen (Gunning), Jim, Julie (Quinn) and Gerard.  Also predeceased by his devoted wife Mary (Marie Harte).  Deeply mourned by his extensive family, sons-in-law Tony and Joe, daughters-in-law Carmel and Sue, grandchildren Joanne, Alan, Laura, Emma, Sarah, Michael, Paul, Aoife, Fionn, Lucas and Amie, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, step children Brian and Sonia and their extended families and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

He lived a long and independent life thanks to the wonderful carers from Bray Home Care and Bray Healthcare, Carraig Clinic, Beacon Hospital and Newtown Park Nursing home.

Reposing at Nichol’s Funeral Home, Lombard Street on Wednesday afternoon (17th August) from 3pm to 5pm.  Funeral Mass at 10 am on Thursday morning (18th August) at St. Patrick’s Church, Ringsend.  For those of you who are unable to attend the Mass, you may view the Mass on the Parish web camera on this link https://churchmedia.tv/st-patricks-church-3. Burial will take place after at Prospect Cemetery, Glasnevin.
