Micheál (Mickey) Duane

The death has occurred of Micheàl (Miceàl) Mickey Duane, McDermott Avenue, Mervue.

 

Mickey passed away peacefully on the 26th of March 2026, in the wonderful care of the Galway Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Predeceased by his father Michael and his mother Mary who he cared for so lovingly in her later years.

 

Mickey will be hugely missed by his sisters Alma, Marian, Anne & Fidelis, his brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family in America, England and Australia, friends and neighbours in McDermott Avenue and especially his uncle and great friend Tommy.

 

Mickey fought a brave battle always remaining positive and resilient.

 

May his gentle soul rest peacefully.

Funeral Arrangements

Monday, 30th March, 2026

Mickey will lie in Repose at the Church of the Holy Family Funeral Parlour, Mervue (H91FH52) from 5 p.m. until 6.30 p.m. (There will be no Removal into the church on Monday evening.)

Access to the Funeral Parlour is through the Main Church Entrance. There is a Wheelchair assisted entrance also at ground level through the car park.

 

Tuesday, 31st. March, 2026

Removal from his home to the Church of the Holy Family, Mervue where Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mickey at 11 a.m., and following Mass Mickey will be laid to rest with his parents in The New Cemetery, Bohermore.
