Micheal (Mike) Johnston

JOHNSTON, Micheal (Mike) Sandycove, Co. Dublin, died peacefully on 4th October 2025 in Ashford House Nursing Home, Dun Laoghaire. Husband and best friend of Pat; beloved father of Brigid, Becky, Luke (deceased), Anna and Josh; Grandfather of Zac, Megan, Aoife, Matthew, Ben and Fern; Mike will be greatly missed by them, their partners Scott, Ferdia, Aisling and Niall, his extended family, and his many friends in Ireland and around the world. Thanks to the wonderful staff of Ashford House, GP Maeve Kelly, and Diane, a true superhero.

 

Mike has donated his body to medical science (RCSI).

 

On Wednesday 29th October, his 90th birthday, two events will happen to celebrate Mike's life and work. At 11am, Mike's extended family and friends will gather to say their goodbyes to him in St Patrick's Church, Harbour Road, Dalkey, Co. Dublin. Then, at 4pm, a celebration of his life and work will take place in Monkstown Parish Church.

 

All welcome to one or both. Both events will be streamed and recorded.
