Michele Burke-Winter passed away in Los Angeles, California on Friday, September 26, 2025 in the presence of her loving husband Michael Winter.
Predeceased by her parents Vivienne and Frank. Michele will be forever loved and missed by her husband Michael, sisters Melanie, Vivienne and Adrienne, brothers Andrew, Peter, Justin, Vardan, Paul and Mark, and by her large extended family, friends and colleagues in Ireland, Canada and the USA.

Michele was born in Dublin, lived in Kildare Town, and attended schools at Mount Anville Dundrum, Kintzheim in Alsace, and Madrid. She lived in Sandycove-Dun Laoghaire before emigrating to Canada with her brother Mark. She began her storied career as a makeup designer and artist in Montreal, gaining her first Oscar with the film Quest For Fire. Michele then moved to Toronto and finally California, where she met Michael, her husband of thirty five years. Michele has worked on many films and series, and gained two Oscars, one notably for Bram Stokers’s Dracula. She has been nominated for an Oscar six times, and has received BAFTAS (British Academy) and has earned numerous awards for her work. She has pioneered and designed makeup products with L’Oreal, and others which are used worldwide, and was a spokesperson for Max Factor. See www.micheleburke.com and on Instagram: Micheleburke_mua

A Memorial Service will be held at the Mariners Church, Haigh Terrace, Dun Laoghaire at 11 am on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
