Mickey (Michael) Brady

Brady, Mickey (Michael) – Welfare Rights Activist, MLA, MP. Passed away 16th January 2026, aged 75 years, at Craigavon Area Hospital. Beloved husband of Caroline, loving father of Saoirse, Michael, Seán and Niall and Lewis, a devoted grandfather, predeceased by his parents Sally and Willie, his brother Jim and his late wife Rose.

 

The family home is strictly private tonight please (Tuesday 20th January). Mickey's remains will repose at his home (28 Armagh Road, Newry BT35 6DJ) on Wednesday (21st) and Thursday (22nd January) from 11am each day. The house is private on Friday morning also please. Parking is available at St. Joseph's Boys' High School, 20 Armagh Road, Newry BT35 6DH for those attending the wake.

 

Removal from the family home on Friday morning (23rd January) at 11.15am, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.30pm in St. Catherine’s Church, Dominic Street, Newry. Burial afterwards in Monkshill cemetery.

 

Very deeply regretted by his loving wife, daughter, sons, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters Mary, Theresa and Lilian and the extended family circle.
