Mike passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on Wednesday, the 18th of March 2026, at University Hospital Galway, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his father James, mother Mary, brothers, Willie, Martin, Jim, Jack and Peadar, sister Sara (Dolly) and his cherished great-grandchild Eliza.
Beloved husband of Liz. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons Joe, Brendan, Eric and Andrew, daughters Betty, Breda, Teresa, Marion and Kathy, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, his 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, his brother Ollie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Irwin’s Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin, Galway (H91 CK84), on Friday, the 20th of March from 5pm until 6:30pm. Funeral cortege will arrive at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Westside, Galway (H91 E781), on Saturday, the 21st of March for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to Rahoon Cemetery (H91 XW62).

Parking: There is ample parking available at The Corrib Shopping Centre Multi-Story Car Park (H91 DP6R) which is only 2 minutes walk to/from the funeral home. The entrance to the car park is from Bóthar Na mBan. Please note that this car park will close at 9pm on Friday evening.
