The death has occurred of Mindszenty Finnegan, 4 Lakeview, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, on Sunday 25th January 2026, peacefully, at the home of his sister-in-law Pauline Finnegan, surrounded by his family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Bridget and Tony; brothers Jimmy, Kevin, Martin, Glenn and Barry; and sisters Kathleen and Frances.
Mindszenty will be deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Pauline, nieces and nephews Alisha (Pierce), April (Dáire), Cath (Dave) and Glenn, who devoted endless time, care and love to ensuring Mindszenty’s comfort; sisters Molly and Rose; brother-in-law Paddy; sisters-in-law Pat and Marie; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Mindszenty will repose at the home of his sister-in-law Pauline Finnegan, 5 Black Island View, Drumillard, Castleblayney (A75 HY54), today, Sunday, from 6.00pm until 8.00pm, and again on Monday from 12 noon until 8.00pm.
Mindszenty’s funeral cortège will congregate at Mindszenty Park, Muckno Street, on Tuesday morning at 11am, with removal at 11:40am (proceeding on foot) to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney, for Funeral Mass at 12noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
