Muireann Kathleen Grooms
(née Walshe)

The death has occurred of Muireann Kathleen Grooms (née Walshe) (Ballinteer, Dublin and Aston-on-Trent, Derby) A short illness bravely borne, Muireann passed away in the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (Royal Derby Hospital), Derbyshire on Wednesday 5 March in her 47th year, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Much loved and greatly missed by her beloved husband Roger, her adored children Jessica and Cillian, her heartbroken mother Miriam, sister Aileen, brother Conor, mother and father-in-law Mary and Brian, brother-in-law Donal, sisters-in-law Stephanie and Kari, nephew Connor and niece Clodagh. Remembered with love by her uncles, aunts, cousins and a wide circle of friends from school, college, work, softball, cricket and more. Pre-deceased by her father Conor, brother Brian and sister Dearbhla.

As a celebration of her life, Muireann’s funeral will be held on:

Church: Thursday 24 April 2025 at 1.30pm in St Albans Catholic Church, Roe Farm Lane, Chaddesden, Derby, DE21 6ET, and afterwards to;

Crematorium: Trent Valley Crematorium, Derby Road, Aston-on-Trent, Derby, DE72 2AF for 3.30pm.

 

With thanks to the doctors and staff in the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton and to the palliative care team for looking after Muireann so well.

 

Muireann was passionate about the environment and being a member of the Green Team in Deutsche Bank, Birmingham meant a lot to her. We invite you to plant a tree in her memory.
