Murtagh Somers

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on March 27th 2026 at St. Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by his parents, Murtagh and Mary, and his granddaughter Ellen. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, his children Paschal, Marie, Marty, Anthony and Mairead, his brothers Stephen and Bernard, his daughter-in-law Nicola and son-in-law Trevor, his adored grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, on Sunday 5th April from 3pm, with prayers at 7pm, followed by removal to his home. House private please. Requiem Mass on Monday 6th April at 11am in St. Brigid’s Church, Coon, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

May God welcome him into his eternal home and may his gentle soul rest in peace.
