Nell Foster-Smith

Nell Foster-Smith (nee McTernan) late of Ennis and Brampton Care Home, Oranmore, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2022, aged 92.

Deeply regretted by her sons Erwin (Adelaide, Australia) and Karl (Minneapolis, USA), their spouses Sue (Erwin) and Bronagh (Karl), her grandchildren Matthew, Tiernan, Shane and Alana, and by her many nieces and nephews in Ireland and abroad.

Nell was born in Clarecastle and lived all her life in Ennis until her latter years where she resided at the Brampton Care Home, where she received wonderful, loving care.

She lived a full life working with Aer Lingus ground staff in Shannon Airport and as a volunteer with the Irish Red Cross. Later she worked for many years at the Clare Social Services. In her retirement she answered the calls at the Samaritans. She loved nothing more than entertaining her children, her sisters and their spouses and her many nieces and nephews. A wonderful mother and a cherished aunt and friend, she will be greatly missed.

Reposing in Daly's Mortuary Chapel, Francis st., Ennis on Tuesday evening from 6 o'clock to 7 o'clock. Arriving for Funeral Mass in the Ennis Cathedral on Wednesday at 11:00 o'clock with Burial after in Drumcliffe Cemetery.
