LEENEY, Niamh (née Jordan) 6 July, Ardilea, Clonskeagh, in the care of SVPH. Niamh went through a huge struggle with cancer over a long period and did this with strength and such an evenly based approach, never complaining about the reasons, only seeking to overcome the disease.

She will be missed terribly by her family, Bob, Ruth, Aoibheann, Hugo and Genevieve, and her extended family, son-in-law Jeff and particularly her darling granddaughters Lottie and Heidi who brought her so much joy.

The family would like to thank SVUH for their care and attention to Niamh in the days leading to her final crisis. Also, Prof. Janice Walshe and her team for their care and support for Niamh during her illness and particularly Prof. Walshe’s comprehensive approach to dealing with and communicating about her illness. We would also like to thank the palliative care teams both in SVPH and in Blackrock Hospice who took such gentle care of Niamh in managing her medicines and making her comfortable.

She will be missed by her friends, her fellow artists and the many people whose lives she has touched in so many different ways.

Reposing at home on Wednesday evening, 10th July from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning, 11th July, to the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome arriving for a 10 o’clock Funeral Service (which can be viewed live on this link - https://www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/), followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.
