Nora Hayes (née Kiely). Ceannahowna, Gort, Co. Galway and formerly of Brigown, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. Peacefully on the 22nd of May, 2025, in the tender care of the staff of Galway University Hospital.

Pre-deceased recently by her husband Mick, by her parents Paddy & Kate, brother Paddy and his wife Kathleen and by her sister Chrissie and her husband Arthur.

Cherished and much loved, Nora will be sadly missed by her children Catherine, Cahal, Martin, Marina and Patrick, son- in-law Harry, daughter-in-law Ida, Martin’s partner Theresa, grandchildren Laura, Aoife, Brianna, Aonrai, Daniel & Daire. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Anne, brothers-in-law Jack and Colm and by their spouses, nieces and nephews, especially Kit, Mary and her husband Mossie, Seamus & John, by all her extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Nora will lie in repose in Seomra Ciúin, within Gort Town Hall, Church Street, Gort, (H91 E0C8) on Saturday evening, May 24th, from 5.30pm until 7pm. The funeral cortege will arrive to to St. Colmans Church Gort on Sunday, May 25th for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Nora will be laid to rest afterwards in St. Colmans Cemetery Gort.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association. House private by request please.

The family wish to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Nora during her illness and over the years, especially the Galway Hospice Palliative home care team and all the staff at G.U.H who were so kind to Nora in her final days.
