Paddy (Scotty) Byrne

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paddy (Scotty) Byrne, Conway Park, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. Paddy passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit in University Hospital Waterford, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his mother Bridie, father Jim (Scotty) Byrne, and brothers Lawrence and Johnny.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Rose, devoted children Ann, Ruth, and Gillian, and cherished grandchildren Aoife, Jack, Grainne, Muireann, Mark, Niamh, Maud, Conor, Lucy, and Blanaid. Paddy is also mourned by his sons-in-law Joey Donnelly, Martin Kavanagh, and Philip Holohan, as well as his sisters Nellie and Sara and his brother Jimmy, extended family, and many friends.

A true gentleman, Paddy’s legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Reposing in Somers Funeral Home, Bagenalstown (eircode R21 DY66) on Tuesday 24th December from 2.pm to 7.pm, with Funeral Prayers at 4.pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday Morning 26th December in St. Andrew's Church, Bagenalstown at 11.am, Followed by burial afterwards in The Cemetery of the Assumption.
