Pat (Paddy) Curran

On August 18th, 2025, PAT ex; An Garda Síochána, passed away peacefully after a short illness borne with great bravery and good humour, surrounded by his family and under the exceptional care of the staff of St Catherine's Ward in Marymount Hospice. Pat is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Hannah Curran, Murreigh, Waterville. Beloved husband of Jane Murray, much loved dad of Laura (O' Brien) Castlebar and Pa Curran, adoring grandad to Paddy, Charlie, Molly, Harry, Ray and Hannah, father-in-law to Shay and Eimear, dear brother of Nancy (New York), Cora (New Jersey) and Mary (O' Shea) Caherciveen.

Sadly missed by his loving family, brother-in-law Leo, sister-in-law Jen and the O’Callaghan family (UK), nieces, nephews both in Ireland and the United States, kind neighbours, friends, and ex colleagues of An Garda Síochána.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of those who cared for Pat during his illness.

Reposing at Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel St, Bantry, P75 YW58 on Wednesday August 20th from 6pm to 7.30pm with vigil prayers at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday August 21st at 2pm at St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (to view live stream please click here) followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry.
