The death has occurred of Pat (Paddy) Hynes,

“Dun Guaire”, Springview, Gort Road, Loughrea

and late of Ballinagrieve, Kilnadeema, Loughrea, Go Galway

It is with deep regret that the Hynes family and his darling Ann announce the death of Pat (Paddy) Hynes, former long-serving member of Galway County Council and Loughrea Town Commissioners.

Paddy died peacefully at his home on the 28th February 2024.

Predeceased by his parents Molly & Patrick, his brothers Sean, Michael and Bernard and his twin sister Mary.

Our adored and cherished Paddy will be sadly missed by his daughter Marian, sons John and Kevin, his sister Phil, brother Martin, nieces, nephews, and also by Andrea and Kevin Devine and their children James and Keeva and a very wide circle of friends.

His warmth, genuine concern for the welfare of others, keen interest in social justice and passion for local and national history will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing Paddy.

Paddy will repose in Kilboy’s Funeral Home on Saturday 2nd March from 4pm to 6pm. Private removal from his residence to St. Dympna’s Church, Kilnadeema, on Sunday morning, 3rd March, for Funeral Mass at 12.30pm. Private Cremation to follow.
