Pat Joe Collins

Pat Joe COLLINS, West Green Dunmanway and late of Letterlickey, Bantry has passed away peacefully after a short illness bravely borne, on 8th of December 2025 in the presence of his loving family. Much loved husband of Noreen (Nee Deasy), idolised father of Pauline (Murphy), Siobhain, Ciaran and Patrice (Burgoyne). Admired father in law of Kevin, David, Eileen and Eoin. Proud Grandie to his adoring 13 grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Jamesie and Michael. Fondly remembered by his sisters Peggy, Kathleen, Celia, Breda, Concillio and Josephine, extended families, especially Kack. Wonderful neighbours and wide circle of friends, far and near.

May he rest in peace.

The Collins family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Bantry General Hospital, especially to the dedicated members of the St Josephs Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion, shown to Patjoe in his final few days.
Also a special thanks to Dr Jack and Dr Brendan O’Connell for their professionalism and expertise.

The family would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Dunmanway Day Care Centre and Alzheimer’s Day Centre, Cara House, Skibbereen. Your kindness, care and warm welcome meant so much to both Patjoe and us. We are deeply grateful for your attentive, helpful and compassionate care.

Visitation this Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, with prayers at 8:00pm.
Funeral Mass on this Thursday morning at 11:00am in St.Patricks Church, Dunmanway. Burial afterwards to St Finbarr’s Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu of Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
