(née Moran)

Ballylee, Gort, Galway / Clonard, Meath

HOEY (née Moran) Patricia (Tish). Ballylee, Gort, Co. Galway and late of Crowe Street, Gort. Peacefully on the 30th of March, 2026, surrounded by the love of her heartbroken family and in the tender care of the wonderful staff of St. Joseph's ward, University, Hospital, Galway.

 

Pre-deceased by her dear mother Vera, her infant child, brother Mike and many other family members and friends.

 

It is with broken hearts and many tears that we announce the sad passing of our beloved Tish, after an illness borne with great courage, humour and dignity. Deeply mourned and forever loved by her husband and best friend Peter and by her adored children Jamie and Jack. Fondly remembered by her father Mickey, sister Brenda (Biddy), brothers John and Colie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, father-in-law Frank, nephews, nieces and godson Conor. Deeply regretted by her aunts and uncles, cousins, relatives, by the extended Hoey and Moran families, great neighbours, former work colleagues and many loyal and dedicated friends.

Tish will lie in repose in Seomra Ciúin, within Gort Town Hall, Church Street, Gort, (H91 E0C8) on Wednesday evening, April 1st, from 4pm. Removal at 6pm to St. Colman’s Church Gort (H91 K228) where Requiem mass will be celebrated for Tish at 6.30pm. Liturgy of the word will take place on Thursday at 12 noon, following the service Tish will be laid to rest in Rakerin cemetery. House private please. Flowers are welcome as Tish loved flowers or donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her memory to Gort Cancer Support or The Galway Hospice Foundation. The Funeral Mass will not be live-streamed. (Please note the time for Requiem Mass due to Easter Holy Week).

The family deeply appreciates your kindness and support at this time. A special word of thanks to all who cared for Tish throughout her illness. Finally much gratitude to our kind neighbours and friends for all they have done for us over these difficult days.
