It is with broken hearts and many tears that we announce the unexpected and tragic passing of Patrick on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026. Patrick was an adored husband and father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, godfather and friend to so many, he was a diligent worker, dedicated Galway, Oranmore/Maree and Kilbeacanty hurling supporter, recently a respected coach in Killimordaly and an avid horse racing enthusiast.
Pre-deceased by his beloved infant son Brian, by his much loved mother Mary and by other dearly loved family members and friend’s.
Patrick will forever be in the hearts of his adoring family. Cherished husband and best friend of Niamh and wonderful dad to Darragh, Conor and Liam. Sadly missed by his heartbroken father Pat (Oranmore/ Kilbeacanty) and by his sister Ann Marie (Prosperous, Kildare). Fondly remembered by his parents in law Frank and Phylllis Higgins (Caltra), brothers-in-law Alan Kehoe (Prosperous), Niall Higgins (Caltra), Colin Higgins (Mountbellew), sisters-in-law, Aisleen Higgins (Letteragh), Paula Higgins (Kanturk), Miriam Higgins (Barna) and Lorraine Higgins (Tirellan), uncles Francis & Martin Kearney, aunts Mary Whelan, Eileen Tully, Peggy Kearney and Josephine Roche, nephews, nieces and cousins. Patrick’s kindness and good humour will be remembered by his neighbours, work colleagues at CB Electrical, by the extended Kearney, Lyons & Higgins families and by his many friends and connections in the GAA and horse racing.

Patrick will lie in repose in Tearmann Mhuire, within the grounds of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Oranmore (H91 XC61), on Friday, 13th of February, from 4pm until 7pm. Funeral cortège arriving on Saturday, 14th of February, to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Oranmore for Requiem Mass at 1pm. Following the funeral mass Patrick will be laid to rest in Renville cemetery, Oranmore, alongside his infant son Brian and mother Mary. People attending the funeral on both days are asked to please adhere to the stewards and traffic management plans in place.
Patrick’s family deeply appreciates your kindness and support at this time. A special word of thanks to all the people, Gardai and Emergency Services who tended to Patrick on the day of his passing. Finally much gratitude to our kind neighbours and friends for all they have done for us over these difficult days.
