Patrick (Paddy) Casey

CASEY (Gurrane House, Donoughmore) - On March 10, 2020 unexpectedly in the loving care of the amazing staff of Rosenalee Care Centre, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, PATRICK (PADDY), beloved husband of the late Ellen (Nellie), father of Derry, Liam & Breda.  Sadly missed by his family, Breda's partner Sean, Liam's partner Paris, relatives and wide circle of neighbours and friends.

Our father Paddy was the champion, the pioneer of good music, song, dance and history.  He loved gatherings and went to every funeral around.  It was our intention to have a grand big funeral like he would have loved and deserved.  He would have wanted his friends from all over the country to attend.  Today it is with those great friends' wellbeing in mind that we have had to make the very difficult decision of holding the entire service in private. 

Our decision is guided by the increasing concern around COVID-19 and keeping people safe.  Paddy would have wanted that above all else.  It is our intention to have a celebration of dad's life later this year.  One of Paddy's favourite nights of the year was June 23rd.  He held his annual night of music, singing and dancing in his great big kitchen.  To all his friends all over the country, we hope you can keep Paddy in your thoughts and prayers at this time.
