On Monday, 23rd February 2026 Paddy died peacefully in the the devoted care of the staff at Clarinbridge Care Centre at the age of 97. Predeceased by his wife Catherine (Kitty), sisters Maimie and Clare and his brothers Seanie and Joseph. Beloved father of Marian, Terence, Antoinette and Joseph.
He will be sadly missed by his sons and daughters,brothers Brendan, Tony and Brian, sisters Ann and Teresa, son-in-law Joe, daughters-in-law Olga and Rosie, cherished grandchildren Mark and his mother Rosemary, Matthew, Diarmaid and Róisín, great-grandchildren Jack, James, Raina, Maurice, Nuala, Niamh and Luan, sister-in-law Áine Carpenter, brother-in-law Luke Clancy, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements
Thursday 26 February 2026
Paddy will lie in repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, (H91V1K8) from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. There will be no Removal to St. Joseph’s Church this evening.
Friday, 27 February 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Paddy on arrival at St. Joseph’s Church, Presentation Road at 11 a.m. Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery. Mass will be live streamed on https://mcn.live/Camera/st-josephs-church-galway

Parking and entrance to the funeral parlour.
Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road. Road works continue within the city, with road diversions.
Car Parks within walking distance of the parlour: The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
