Patrick (Paddy) Thornton

It is with sadness that the Thornton family share the news of Paddy’s passing peacefully at home on 11 March, 2024 surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his grandson Oliver Patrick, parents Michael and Mary, eight siblings including Margaret and niece Teresa who both died in 2023.

Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Marie for over 60 years, much loved father of Hilary, Susan and Derek and cherished grandfather of Izzy, Kate, Eva, Greta and Ewan. Paddy will be deeply missed by his family, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces, the extended Thornton and Ryan family, relatives, and friends.

Reposing at ‘Aras Naofa’ within the grounds of the Church of St. Oliver Plunkett, Renmore on Wednesday, 13 March, from 5 p.m. with Removal at 6.30 p.m. to the adjacent Church. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Paddy on Thursday, 14 March at 1 p.m. (one o'clock) and following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rinville cemetery, Oranmore.
