Patsy passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by his family in the wonderful care of the staff of the Mercy University Hospital, Cork on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026.

 

Predeceased by his parents, his sister Margaret and recently his brother Jimmy.

 

Deeply regretted by his beloved wife Joan (née Buckley), his much loved children Caoimhe, Karen, Fidelma, Bryan, Jennifer and Gavin, his precious grandchildren Béibhinn, Turlough, Róisín, Fiadh, Iarla and Noah. Dear brother of Mary (Geary), Joan (Moloney) and Imelda (Madigan).

 

Deeply regretted by his loving wife, family, daughter-in-law Sharon (Herlihy), sons-in-law Des O'Neill and Ed McAuliffe, sister-in-law Peggy Lynch, brothers-in-law Mike Geary, Gerard Madigan, Noel and T. C. Buckley, nephews and nieces and by his extended family, kind friends and neighbours.

Reposing in Hawe - O'Keeffe's Funeral Home (P56 YY15), Bakers Road, Charleville, on Thursday evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm (Prayers at 5:00pm).

 

 

Reception into St. Joseph's Church, Newtownshandrum on Friday morning for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, after which Patsy will be laid to rest in Newtownshandrum 'new' Cemetery.

 

The family would like to thank Margaret Lynch, Dr. P. J. Whooley and his team in the Mercy University Hospital for their kindness shown to Patsy and his family.
