Patty Hyland
(née Courtney)

Patty Hyland (née Courtney), of Dundrum, Dublin, passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2024. Patty was a loving mother and grandmother whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

 

Family was very important to Patty. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, always prioritising their happiness and well-being. Her warmth and unwavering support made her the heart of the family.

 

An ardent fan of Elvis Presley, Patty found joy and comfort in his music throughout her life. She embraced a healthy lifestyle, practicing yoga regularly and enjoying her unique indulgences like Butlers coffee with her friend Marie and a sneaky piece of chocolate.

 

Patty had a passion for watching period dramas, immersing herself in the stories and characters of bygone eras. She was known for her wonderful sense of humour, always ready to share a good laugh with family and friends.

 

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Tony; her sons, Robert and David; her daughter, Elaine; her daughters-in-law, Ann and Sue; and her grandchildren, Ryan, Muireann, Fionn, August, and Ava. Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Marie, and her brother, Willie. She is survived by her brothers, Larry and wife Angelina; Paddy, and her sister, Kathleen and husband Dan; sisters-in-law Patricia and Theresa and brothers-in-law Michael and Derek.

 

She will be sadly missed by her lifelong friends Joan and Denis.

 

Her warmth, kindness, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all her nieces and nephews; friends and neighbours, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Patty will repose at JP Ward & Sons Funeral Home, Sandyford Village on Tuesday evening (July 23rd) from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Wednesday morning (July 24th) to the Church of the Ascension of the Lord, Balally arriving for 10am Mass, followed by private Cremation.
