The death has occurred of
PAUL A. WHELAN
PAUL A. WHELAN (Botanist – “The Lichen Man”) “Holm Oak”, Jamesbrook, Midleton, Co. Cork & formerly of Limerick.
On December 22nd 2025 after a short illness, in the presence of family and in the loving care of the wonderful staff at Cork University Hospital.
Sadly missed by his loving wife Anna, brother Barry, sister Mary (Galvin), nephews and niece, extended family and a wide circle of friends, home and away.
Predeceased by his brother Jim.
May Paul Rest in Peace.
Paul will repose at Hydes Funeral Home, Drury’s Avenue, Midleton, P25VW02, on Saturday 27th from 3pm–5pm.
A private cremation will follow.
No flowers. Donations, if desired, to a charity of your own choice.
