Paul Anderson

The death has occurred of Paul Anderson, Balinamona, Avoca, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Kilmainham, Co. Dublin.

 

Paul passed in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022.  He was 89 and was pre-deceased by his four brothers Michael, Gerry, Paddy, Alex and his sister Rita.

 

Paul will be missed by all who knew him, but especially his wife of fifty-eight years, Suzanne; his daughters Jeanne, Kerry and Deirdre; his grandchildren Conor, Alec, Jack and Ruby; his niece Mary Frances and her daughter Aine.  

 

Paul began his working life as a coach builder for the CIE (The 'Come In Early') and for a time in London.  Then in 1961 he boarded "The Canberra" and sailed to Sydney on a ten pound ticket.  He worked for thirty years as a civil servant in New South Wales in the field of psychiatric nursing.  He returned home in 1992 and settled in 'County Wickla'.

 

His motto (one of many): It'd be a grim world if you didn't have a sense of humour.

 

Paul will be reposing at his residence this Saturday afternoon from 4pm-8pm. 

 

A Humanist Service will be held for Paul at his family cottage on Sunday April 24th at 11am.

 

Due to a lack of parking facilities at his residence, a shuttle bus service will run for those wishing to attend his service and pay their respects. The shuttle bus will leave Sunday morning from Woodenbridge Hotel car park at 10.15am, 10.30am, 10.45am. Shuttle bus will be returning to Woodenbridge Hotel car park after Service.

Burial will take place on Sunday evening at 5pm in Woodbrook Natural Burial Ground, Ballinlug East, Co. Wexford.

Paul's last words were a recitation of The Psalm of Life:
