Philomena passed away on Thursday, 5th February 2026, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the exceptional care of the staff of Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her beloved son Colin; parents John and Bridget; sisters Mary Stapleton and Rosaleen McNally; and brothers Pat, John, and Michael Ward.

Philomena will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her loving husband Malachy; daughter-in-law Jenni; her cherished grandson Cillian; brother-in-law Michael McNally; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, many good friends, and neighbours.

May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her home in Kiltycreevagh, Ballinamuck (Eircode N39 E9V4) on Sunday, 8th February, from 4pm, concluding with prayers at 8pm.

(The family will take a 15-minute break at 6pm.)

Funeral Mass on Monday, 9th February, in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballinamuck, arriving for 12 o’clock, followed by burial in Ballinamuck New Cemetery.
