PHILOMENA WHEAT (née Costello) Clifton Springs, New York and formerly Lakelands, Athlone, Co. Westmeath. February 2nd, 2024; (Peacefully), surrounded by her loving family, under the gentle care of hospice. Beloved wife and best friend of James (Jim) and much-loved mother of Nuala and Deirdre. Loving sister of Michael and Thomas. Predeceased by her parents Martin and Bridget and by her sisters Maire Eibhlin (late Tadhg) and Catherine (late Luke).

Mourned and sadly missed by her husband, daughters, brothers, sons-in-law Alan and Jonathan, sisters-in-law Mary and Ellen, brother-in-law Michael (Carolyn), adored grandchildren Orla (Drew), Aoife (Kevin), Aislinn, and Rowan, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and dear friends in Ireland, England, and the US.

Reposing at Smyth's Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Friday evening (February 16th) from 5 o’c until 6.30 o’c followed by removal to St John’s Church, Lecarrow. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning (February 17th) at 11 o’c. Following Mass she will be laid to rest in the adjoining Cemetery.
