Prof. Daniel (Dan) O'Donovan

Maunsell's Road, Galway City, Galway / Loughill, Limerick

Originally Loughill, Co. Limerick. Prof. Daniel (Dan) O’Donovan passed away, peacefully, in the loving care of his family on 11th May 2021, in his 90th year. Predeceased by his darling grandson Eoin, sisters Helen Hill and Kathleen, brothers Jimmy, Tommy, Michael, Denis and Eddie. 

 

May they rest in peace.

 

Sadly, missed by his heartbroken wife Pamela (nee Glynn, Roscommon) and lovingly remembered by his sons and daughters Cormac (North Carolina, USA), Brian (Dublin), Siobhan Glynn (Loughrea), Barry (Perth, Australia) and Orla (Waterford), by his beloved grandchildren Katie and Maura, Fiona and Niamh, Eanna (and his wife Patsy) and Darragh, by his daughters-in-law Rebecca, Frances and Sheila and by his son-in-law Paul Glynn.   Fondly remembered and loved by his brothers John and Pat (and his wife Katherine), brother-in-law Ronan, sisters-in-law Dympna and Adeline, Maura, Eilish and Gabrielle.   Adored by his many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

 

Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 15th May at St Joseph’s Church, Presentation Road. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon Cemetery.

All funeral arrangements will pay attention to current restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

 

The route from the Church to Rahoon Cemetery will include New Road, Helen Street, NUIG Aula Maxima, returning to Newcastle Road and St. Mary’s Road, Taylor’s Hill, Maunsell’s Road and Rahoon Road.

If you would like to stand anywhere along the route as a mark of respect, please do so safely.
