Regina (Queenie) Lyons

Regina (Queenie) died peacefully at St. Mary’s Residential Care Centre, Galway on Wednesday, 10th September 2025. Beloved sister of Dermot and predeceased by her brothers Paddy, Henry (Broddie), Vincent, Maurice and Frankie and her sister Tina, sisters-in-law Marjorie and Anne and brother-in-law Peadar Joyce.

Deeply mourned and sadly missed by her brother Dermot, sister-in-law Mary, cherished nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. Fondly remembered also by the parishioners for her contribution to the Church, the Choir, her pupils and all those bereaved whose celebrations were enriched by her music.

 

The family would like to thank most sincerely those who cared for Queenie in recent times – the wonderful staff at Galway University Hospital (St. Finbarr’s, Shannon and St. Anthony’s Wards), Bluebird Care, An Teaghlach Uilinn, Moycullen and St. Mary’s Residential Care Centre, Galway.

May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

 

Funeral Arrangements

Sunday, September 14th, 2025
Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91V1K8) from 3.00 p.m. Removal to the Jesuit Church, Sea Road, Galway at 4.30 p.m.

Monday, September 15th, 2025
