Capt. John (Jack) Phelan (Retired), of Foxrock, Dublin 18 and formerly and proudly of Doneraile, Co. Cork, passed away on Wednesday, 17th February, 2021, peacefully, in his 94th year, in the wonderful care of Belmont House Nursing Home after a full life, well lived.
A loving husband for 59 years to his devoted wife Elizabeth (Betty), deeply loved by his children John, James, Carol Ann, Niall, and Paul; their partners Lynda, Ali, Mike, Claudia and Kristie and his grandchildren Gracie, Rosie, Rebecca, Hannah, William, Joshua and Daniel. He will be sadly missed by his extended family, especially the Lysaght, Rea and Walsh cousins in Cork.
His generous loving nature and larger than life spirit will be greatly missed by his adoring family, relatives, friends and neighbours as well as his past colleagues in the Defence Forces, RNLI, and TV & Film industry - with whom he shared so many fond and treasured memories.
Due to government restrictions and to keep friends and family safe, Jack’s Funeral Mass will take place privately on Monday (22nd February) at 10am in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock. Those would like to attend the mass are warmly invited to join at churchservices.tv/foxrock. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jack can be made online to RNLI.
