The death has occurred of
Rev Fr Jim O'Connell
O’Connell Rev. Fr. Jim SM, Dundalk Co. Louth, formerly Dublin and Peru. On 16th April 2026, peacefully in the care of Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Pre-deceased by his parents Charlie and Nora. Deeply regretted by his brother John, sister-in-law, Nuala, and his Marist Community. Much loved Uncle to Bronach, Áine, Máirín and Michael. Greatly missed by his extended family, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews, Marist Confreres and his many friends and parishioners in Dundalk and Dublin.
May Fr Jim rest in eternal life
Removal to St. Mary’s Church, Dundalk (A91 WN90) on Friday 17th April, arriving at 6.00pm. Funeral mass at St Mary’s Church, Dundalk, at 10.00am on Saturday, 18th April 2026, followed by interment at Balgriffin Cemetery, Dublin 17.
