Rev Fr. John Morrissey

The death has occurred of Rev Fr. John Morrissey, Pastoral Emeritus of St Sebastian Catholic Church, Florida.

Formerly of Clonreddan, Cooraclare, Kilrush, Co. Clare.

 

Fr. John passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on 15th December 2025 in the wonderful Hospice care at his residence in Pelican Landing, Florida.

 

Fr. John was predeceased by his beloved parents Bridget (Baby) and Sean, brothers Fr. Michael and Tommy, sisters Nancy, Bernie, Tess, Nancy (Ann) and Sr. Maureen.

 

Deeply mourned by his loving brother Fr. Martin Morrissey MSC, Croí Nua, Galway, sisters Josephine (London), Pauline (Cooraclare, Co. Clare), Phil (New York) and Carmel (Florida), brothers in law, nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

He will be sadly missed by the community in St. Sebastian, Florida, Columban Fathers, Dalgan Park, Navan and a wide circle of friends worldwide.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday 10th January 2026 at 1pm in St. Senan’s Church, Cooraclare, Co. Clare.
