Rev. Fr. John O’Reilly (Chelsea, Melbourne and formerly Sacred Heart Church, St Albans, Melbourne & Shraugh, Louisburgh, Co Mayo.) Peacefully on 7th February 2025. Predeceased by his parents Austin & Delia (nee McMyler) O’Reilly, Shraugh, brothers Patrick (Shraugh), & Thomas (Perth) sisters Anna O’Donnell (Westport), Mary Battams (Surry), Breege Gaffney (Ohio), Sheila Wallace (Arizona) & Margaret Burke (Clonbur). Sadly missed and remembered with love by his sisters Kitty O’Reilly (Perth), Gertrude Corrigan (Belturbet) & Brenda Lyons (Askelane), sister-in-Law Monica O’Reilly (Shraugh), brother-in-law, John Lyons (Askelane), his loyal friend Sr. Judith Carlson (Melbourne), nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews, cousins,extended O'Reilly & Mc Myler families, +Archbishop Peter Comensoli, brother priests, and religious of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, parishioners, his many dear friends in both Melbourne and Louisburgh.

 

Requiescat in Pace

 

Vigil Prayer – Monday 17th February 2025, 6.00pm at Sacred Heart Church, St Albans, Melbourne.

Pontifical Concelebrated Mass – Tuesday 18th February 2025, 11am at Sacred Heart Church

Followed by interment in the Priest's Crypt at Melbourne General Cemetery, College Cres, Parkville, Melbourne.

We continue to pray for the repose of his soul.

In his own words “Mass is not over; it must be lived, so let us go forth to love and serve the Lord".

Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul in St Patrick's Church, Louisburgh,

Co. Mayo on Sunday 23rd February 2025 at 11.30am.
