Rev. Fr. Peter Hegarty, SPS,

(Coolagown, Fermoy, Co Cork, St Patrick’s Missionary Society, Kiltegan, Co Wicklow and formerly of the Diocese of Mzuzu, Malawi.)

Fr. Peter passed away suddenly, at his home in Coolagown. Beloved son of the late John and Bride (nee Linehan) and brother of the late Lucy. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sisters Sheila (O’Brien), Breda (O’Flynn), Carmel (O’Connor), Emily (Jackson), Jo (McDonagh), Mary (Higgins), Ann (Hally), Bernadette (Ahern), Angela (O’Regan) his brothers Matt, David, John, Frank and Henry, sisters-in-law Marie and Valerie, brothers-in-law Ted O’Flynn, John O’Connor, Peter Jackson, Seamus McDonagh, Michael Higgins, Tony Hally, Dave Ahern and Anthony O’Regan, Aunts Jo and Eleanor, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and by his Society family, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Fr. Pete will repose at Ronayne’s Funeral Home, Fermoy, on Sunday from 3–5pm, for those who wish to pay their respects. (Family will not be in attendance). Private Concelebrated Requiem Mass on Monday, July 20th, at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Coolagown, with funeral afterwards to The Society Cemetery, Kiltegan. Fr. Pete’s Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Ronayne Funeral Directors' Facebook Page. No flowers please, donations in lieu, if desired, to St. Patrick’s Missionary Society, Kiltegan.

Following Fr. Pete's Requiem Mass the funeral cortege will travel from St. Mary's Church Coolagown at approx 12.30.pm. via Coolagown, Knock, Garrynoe, Belvue, Court House Road, Patrick Street, Pearse Square, Oliver Plunkett Hill and Dublin Road. - Kiltegan.
