Reverend Fr. John J. Butler

Peacefully, on Wednesday the 2nd July, 2025, in his 93rd year in Ohio.

Formerly of St. Kieran's Terrace, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

Fr. Butler is predeceased by his parents John and Margaret, his sisters Nancy, Eileen and Madeline, brother Tom, his brothers-in-laws John Gallagher and Jim Cunnane and his sister-in-law Pauline Butler.

He is survived by his sister Maisie Butler. Deeply regretted by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, his cousin Bishop Paul Connell (Diocese of Ardagh & Clonmacnoise), his cousins and wider family.

Also deeply regretted by his colleagues and friends at the Dayton Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, as well as the Hayes Family and the wonderful caring staff and residents of the St. Charles Retirement Centre.

Forever In Our Hearts as a life well lived as Father John made a difference spiritually, supporting the lives of others.

Rest In Peace Faithful Servant.

Funeral will take place in Ohio at a later date.
