COAKLEY (Glencurragh, originally Bridge Street, Skibbereen): On March 23rd 2026, peacefully at Schull Community Hospital surrounded by family. RICHARD dearly beloved husband of Mary, much loved father of Karen, Ann, Paula, Steve, Eugene, Richard Óg and Mike, dear brother of Maura, Christine, Eileen, Patsy and the late Una. Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, sisters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren Shane, Lauren, Niamh, Aoife, Brian, Millie, Amber, Noah, Jackson, Erin, Liam and Isla, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in Hurley & O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Skibbereen on Wednesday, March 25th 2026 from 5pm to 7pm followed by Prayers. Requiem Mass on Thursday, March 26th 2026 at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Skibbereen. This will be livestreamed here. Funeral afterwards to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Coronea, Skibbereen.

The family would like to thank Schull Community Hospital, Bantry General Hospital, Skibbereen Day Care, Cara House Luncheon Club, The Alzheimer’s Society, Dr. Creagh and his team in Skibbereen Medical Centre, Dan Cleary and staff of Cleary’s Pharmacy and Public Health Nurses Helen and Paula for the care shown to Richard.
