Richard (Dick) Hurley

Dick of Rock House, Ballyanihan, Kildorrery, Co. Cork and formerly of Drumfeigh, Enniskeane, Co. Cork

 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sad passing of Richard (Dick) Hurley, Ballyanihan, Kildorrery, who passed away peacefully on November 23rd, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, in the tender care of the exceptional staff at Amberley Nursing Home, Fermoy.

 

Predeceased by his sister Anna Murray, and his brothers John, Tommy, Frank, Michael, Joseph and Finbarr.

 

Beloved husband of the late Sheila (née O’Donovan), and cherished father of Richard, John, Imelda, Jennifer, Declan and Sheila.

 

Dick will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, his adoring grandchildren Fran, Emma, Seána, Richie, Kieran, Ruairí, Rachel, Andrea, Oisín, Chloe, Lucy, James, Mark, Maebh, Andrew, Stephen and Tom; daughters-in-law Mary, Eleanor, Marguerite and Mairead; sons-in-law Jim, Mike and Denis; his brother Paddy; sisters Eileen Moriarty and Mary Leonard; sister-in-law Peggy O’Donovan; nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, wonderful neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Hannon’s Funeral Home, Kildorrery (P67 H971) on Tuesday, 25th November, from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

Removal from his home on Wednesday, 26th November, to St. Bartholomew’s Church, Kildorrery for 12 noon Requiem Mass, which will be live streamed here, followed by burial in the local cemetery.

 

The family wish to express heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors and carers who lovingly cared for Dick over the years – at home, in the Dementia Daycare Unit Mitchelstown, and more recently in Amberley Nursing Home, Fermoy.
