Richard Spencer

Richard Spencer (Ballincollig) died suddenly on September 28th 2023 in Anglet, France while traveling in the Basque region that he loved so much. Dear father of Rowan, son of the late Agnes and James, brother of Mary (Martin), Una (Walsh), Monica, and Lucy (McSweeney).

 

Richard will be sadly missed by his family, his daughter-in-law-to-be Emma, his brothers-in-law Brian, Diarmuid, Con, and Jim, his many nephews and nieces, and his extended family in Ireland, the USA, Canada, and England. He will also be missed by friends in Ireland who knew him as Dick, friends and neighbors from his many years living in the San Francisco Bay Area and friends around the world who knew him from his adventures — especially in Canada, France, Spain, and Thailand.

I must away now, I can no longer tarry,

This morning's tempest, I have to cross,

I must be guided, without a stumble,

Into the arms I love the most

 

Cremation has taken place in France. Memorial Mass in his name will be held at The Church of St. Mary & St. John in Ballincollig on Saturday, November 18, at 6pm.
