RIGHT REVEREND MONSIGNOR LEONARD O'BRIEN
O’BRIEN (Clonakilty and late of Curragh, Skibbereen): On August 26th , 2020 peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Marymount University Hospice, RIGHT REVEREND MONSIGNOR LEONARD, much loved brother of Anna (O’Donovan) and Gerald, dear uncle of Margaret, Michael, Josephine, Brian, Romie and Claire. Sadly missed by his loving family, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, Bishop Fintan Gavin, Bishop Emeritus John Buckley, clergy of the Diocese, parishioners and former parishioners, relatives and friends.
In accordance with HSE and Government Guidelines Right Reverend Monsignor Leonard O’Brien will lay in rest in the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Clonakilty from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, August 28th, 2020 in conformity with church guidance for those who would like to visit for personal prayer. A private Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at 10.30am. This will be livestreamed on www.clonakiltyparish.ie/live with private burial afterwards in the adjoining Church Yard Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Marymount University Hospice.
