GAVIN, Rita (née Lynch) (late of Knocklyon, Dublin and formerly of Eyrecourt, Co. Galway) passed away peacefully at home, after an illness borne with great dignity and courage, surrounded by her loving family, on the 12th October 2025. Beloved mother of Deirdre and Siobhán. Predeceased by her dear husband Pat, twin sister Philomena and sister Margaret. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, son-in-law Mark, grandchildren Edith and Nell, her sisters Mary, Ann, Brid, Pauline, Patricia, Clare and Jacinta, her brothers Kieran, Séan, Frank, Padraig and Michael, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Rita will be reposing at the Larry Massey Funeral Home, Eden Centre, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, D16 V046, on Wednesday evening (October 15th) from 5pm - 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning (October 16th) to St. Colmcille’s Church, Knocklyon, D16 R799 arriving for 11am Mass followed by burial in Kilmashogue Cemetery, Edmondstown Road, (map below).
