Robert Mauro

Dr. Robert “Bob” M. Mauro, 46, of Weston, MA, USA died on October 31, 2022, after an extended illness faced with great courage and dignity. Bob served as Executive Director of the Irish Institute and founding Director of the Global Leadership Institute at Boston College. While his work took him all over the world, Bob’s most significant contributions came in strengthening ties between people in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Boston, MA, USA.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Pyke, his beloved daughters Dara and Tess, his parents and sister, and his extended family in the United States and Ireland. He is also sadly missed by a large network of friends and colleagues.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Wayland, MA, USA. Private burial will take place in Linwood Cemetery, Weston, MA, USA.  The family plans a memorial service at a future time.

In Bob's honor, a trust will be established for the benefit of Dara and Tess. At this time, contributions can either be made via check or by a gofundme found at  gofundme.com/f/support-for-the-mauro-family and all funds will be added to the trust for Dara and Tess.
