The death has occurred of

Robin James Addis (1939-2026)

Killiney, Dublin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Robin, husband, dad, grandad and brother, who died peacefully on 2nd February 2026, aged 86.

A man of quiet strength and deep integrity. Robin was a true pioneer and a visionary leader. As the founder of the Marketing Society of Ireland and the man who established and led Lansdowne Market Research, taking it to the global stage as a member of INRA; his contributions were recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Beyond his professional accolades, he was a dedicated mentor and an inspiration to all who worked with him.

While proud of his roots in the Forest of Dean, England, he truly found his place in the world in Ireland, calling it his home for almost sixty years. A true gentleman, Robin was defined by his boundless energy; a passionate gardener and a lifelong Manchester United supporter, he was a gifted all-round sportsman who played competitive tennis until age 85 and enjoyed a game of pool until his final days.

Above all, family was his world. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jane; children, Cathy, Michael, Claire, and Suzy; grandchildren, Callum, Alannah, Jake, Logan, Amelie, Luisa, and Charlie; and his siblings, Allen and Penny. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Rest in Peace
