Rose Hand
(née Geraghty)

Rose Marie Hand (née Geraghty) in her 88th year, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda on Tuesday, 20th January 2026 after a brief illness and surrounded by her loving family.

 

Rose is predeceased by her loving husband Tony, her mother and father Kathleen and Joseph, brothers Joseph, John, Kevin, and Bill, and infant granddaughter, Laura.

 

Rose leaves behind her loving and devoted children, Muriel Durnin and husband John, Michael Hand and wife Ann, Martina Russell and husband David, and Jacqueline Pierre and husband Kenny, her cherished grandchildren Jason Hand, Niall Hand, Shane Hand, Nicole Russell Serpa and husband Charlie, Seán Russell and wife Maggie, Ciarán Russell and partner Nicolette, Jonathan Durnin, fiancée Robyn, and son Ruhn, and Craig Durnin and fiancée Nicola. She also leaves behind many loving nephews, nieces, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law extended family, neighbours and good friends.

 

Rose’s kindness, warmth, wit, and beautiful laugh will be missed immensely. She leaves a legacy of love, and her family will carry this in their hearts forever.

Rose will repose at Finlay's Funeral Home, Tierney Street, Ardee, Co. Louth (Eircode A92 TW68) on Friday (23rd) from 4pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning leaving Finlay's Funeral Home at 9:30am to St. Catherine's Church, Ballapousta arriving for 10am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
