Seamus (Jim) Smith

Gortnakillew, Poles, Cavan / Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Formerly Brackloney, Ballyjamesduff and 'The Top of the Town', Cavan. Saturday May 2nd 2020, peacefully at home, in the tender loving care of his family. Dearly beloved husband of Marian, adored father of Martin, Orládh, Darren and Caitríona. He will be sadly missed by his daughters-in-law Jennifer and Anita, son-in-law Casement and his beloved grandchildren Oisín, Killian, Ailbe, Sadhbh, James and Darragh, his brother Ultan, sisters Connie, Sue, Pauline, Geraldine and Norine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace

While we would love to have everyone with us at this very sad time, in accordance with HSE and Government guidelines regarding restrictions on public gatherings, a private family funeral will take place, after which Seamus will be laid to rest at St. Dympna's Church, Lower Lavey.

 

Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to current restrictions cannot, please use the condolence link on this page. A celebration of Seamus' life will be held with a Memorial Mass in the future.

 

Seamus' family would like to thank Professor James Hayes, the staff of the Respiratory Team & Medical One Ward and the Palliative Care Team in Cavan General Hospital for their care and dedication.
