Seán Ashe

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, Seán died peacefully with his beloved family by his side in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Dominick’s Ward, Galway University Hospital, following exceptional care at St. Mary’s Nursing Home, where he resided recently.

 

Deeply loved and mourned by his wife Marie (née Hanlon), children Deirdre, Seán Óg and Sinéad, brothers Eamonn and Declan, sisters Colette and Sheila, daughter-in-law Inma Aznar, son-in-law John Lavesley and by his four grandsons Conor, Michael, Liam and Bruno and grand-daughter Yana. Seán will always be fondly remembered by the extended Ashe and Hanlon family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Wednesday, August 27, 2025 - Reposing at home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. House Private before and after the Reposing on Wednesday.

Parking will be available at Scoil Chroí Íosa, Newcastle Road.

 

Thursday, August 28, 2025 - Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Seán on arrival at St. Joseph’s Church, Presentation Road at 11 a.m. Following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery (H91 XW6). Webcam link below.
