Sean McDaid

The death has occurred of Sean McDaid (formerly of Cong, Co. Mayo and Knocknacarra, Galway), beloved and beautiful son of Eddie and Ruth McDaid. Sean passed away unexpectedly at his home in Massachusetts, USA on the 27th December 2025. Deeply loved and cherished by his grandparents Harry and Helena Byrne, Cong, Co Mayo, Granny Veronica McDaid, his baby sister Saoirse, his heartbroken uncles, aunts, cousins, many friends and carers. Predeceased by his uncles Henry Byrne and Ronan Gibbons. Sean brought immense joy, warmth and light to all who knew him. He will be forever remembered for his gorgeous smile, his bravery and all the love he inspired.

Reposing in Danaghers Hotel, Cong, Co. Mayo on Thursday January 1st from 4pm - 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Saturday 3rd January, 2026 at St. Mary of the Rosary Church, Cong, Co. Mayo with burial afterwards to Lisloughrey Cemetery, Cong.
