Sean McDermott

Formerly of Knockarush, Boyle Co, Roscommon

 

On Saturday 24th January 2026, in his 94th year, Sean passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

 

Pre-deceased by his sisters Attracta, Eileen, Sarah and Una, and brothers Timmy and Kevin.

 

Sean is dearly missed by his family; his devoted wife of 60 years Lily, loving children Eamonn, Emer, Deirdre and Sean, daughter-in-law Sara, Deirdre’s partner John Finnegan, and his much loved grandchild John.

 

He will be fondly remembered and missed by his sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

 

Funeral Arrangements

Tuesday 27th January: Sean will repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5pm. - 6:30pm. No removal to the Church.

 

Wednesday 28th January: Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Sean at St. Columbas' Church, Castlegar (H91 E4C9) on arrival for Mass at 11.30am. Following Mass, a cremation service will take place in Shannon Crematorium.
