SHEELAGH NELLIE JACOBS

Sheelagh Nellie Jacobs. Crowe Street, Gort, Co. Galway and late of Whole Health Centre Gort. Formerly of Pretoria, South Africa. Peacefully on the 6th of December, 2023, surrounded by her family and in the tender care of the Galway Hospice Foundation.

Predeceased by her parents Dirk & Mary Patricia Jacobs.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheelagh. Cherished and much-loved she will be sadly missed by her brother John William (Jok), sister’s Mary-Anne and Katherine Margaret (Cappy), brother-in-law Martin, nephew Jonno, nieces Nathaniah and husband Juha, Sarah, Elisha, Leyah and by her beloved dog and companion Lady. Fondly remembered by her extended family, great neighbours and by her many loyal and devoted friends.

A gathering of Sheelagh’s family and friends will take place in Seomra Ciúin within Gort Town Hall, Church Street, Gort, (H91 E0C8) on Thursday evening, December 7th, from 7pm. Removal at 8pm to St. Colman's Church, Gort. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Sheelagh on Friday, 8th of December, at 11am. A private cremation service will be held in Shannon Crematorium for family and close friends. Flowers welcome as Sheelagh loved flowers or donations can be made in her memory to the wonderful Gort Cancer Support Centre. People attending the funeral are asked to wear bright colours or a flower in memory of Sheelagh.

The family deeply appreciate your kindness, loyalty, love and support at this time. We wish to thank all our wonderful neighbours and friends for all they have done to help us in these difficult days. Sincere thanks to Dr. Richard Joyce and all at the Gort Medical Centre and also to Gort Cancer Support and the Galway Hospice Foundation for all they did for Sheelagh.
